Countryside Farms - Logistics Supervisor
We are currently looking for a Logistics Supervisor for our Countryside Farms plant in Steinbach.

To successfully fulfill your role within the organization :
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Logistics Supervisor will lead and manage the logistics team, including truck drivers and shipping team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure adherence to all food safety standards, practices, and regulations to guarantee the highest product quality for our customers
- Coordinate the daily tasks of the logistics team to maximize efficiency
- Plan and oversee pickups and deliveries to ensure optimal use of resources
- Ensure scheduled maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget
- Mentor and develop team members by setting clear expectations and holding them accountable
- Verify that daily inspections by drivers and operators are conducted as required
- Oversee order picking and shipping processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Participate in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Ensure all equipment is clean and operated according to internal and regulatory safety standards
- Collaborate on the implementation of new health and safety systems
- Participate in physical inventory counts as necessary
- Provide input on capital expenditure projects
- Track and manage maintenance, repair costs, and fuel expenditures
- Schedule third-party freight carriers to optimize cost-effectiveness
- Ensure that logistics costs remain within budget targets
You are the ideal candidate if you have the following qualifications :
- Post-secondary education in Logistics (an asset)
- Minimum (5) years of experience in a logistics environment
- Minimum three (3) years in a leadership role
- Class 1 Licence (an asset)
- Forklift and warehousing experience is required
- Physically capable of handling warehouse operations
- Strong organizational skills with a methodical approach
- Eager to learn and grow within the role
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Proven experience in training, mentoring, and developing team members
You are the ideal candidate if you have the following professional qualifications :
- Experience in a food processing plant
- Knowledge of 5S methodology and Lean principles
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, and their maintenance
- Expertise in preventive maintenance scheduling and execution
